Postdoc in MultiModal remote sensing

14.06.2017 - The laboratory of Geo-Information Science and Remote Sensing, Wageningen University, The Netherlands

The Wageningen University offers a a postdoc position for 12 months in Multimodal remote sensing, with accent on deep learning and structured models for fusing data of different kinds (remote sensing, GIS and social media) to describe cities.

They are looking for a postdoc holding a PhD degree in e.g. data science, computer science, remote sensing. The candidate should have affinity and/or experience with: machine learning, image processing, computer vision.

The candidate will participate in the “Multimodal Machine Learning for Remote Sensing Information Fusion” project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and hosted at Wageningen University & Research. The research of the candidate will focus on the development of methods rooted in computer vision (deep learning, structured prediction) to fuse and process data coming from diverse remote sensing (optical and LiDAR) and other geographical data sources (ground images, maps, zonal statistics and social media) to describe cities and their functioning. Particular accent will be put on the encoding of prior knowledge about urban structures and simultaneous processing of multi-view data.

Application deadline: 26 June 2017
