Neue Direktorin am ICE-3: Prof. Anke Nölscher

We are delighted to welcome Prof. Anke Nölscher as the new director of the Troposphere Division (ICE-3) at the Institute of Climate and Energy at Forschungszentrum Jülich, effective April 1. ICE-3 is a member of the ABC/J geoscience network, and Prof. Nölscher will focus her research on the Earth's lower atmosphere and investigate the interactions between the Earth and the atmosphere in the context of climate change and the energy transition.

Prof. Nölscher (39) comes from the University of Bayreuth, where she has been a junior professor of atmospheric chemistry since 2019. With her move to FZJ, she has also taken up a professorship at the University of Cologne. After graduating in meteorology, she obtained her doctorate in 2012 at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry in Mainz, completed a postdoc at Caltech in Pasadena (USA) in 2015, and worked as a project coordinator at the German Weather Service until 2019.

We wish Prof. Nölscher every success in her new role and look forward to working with her in the ABC/J geoscience network!
