Strategic Roundtable & Pre-Christmas Reception of the Geoverbund ABC/J

On December 5, 2025, numerous members of the Geoverbund ABC/J from RWTH Aachen University, the University of Bonn, the University of Cologne, and Forschungszentrum Jülich came together to jointly further develop the future of our network.

During the strategic roundtable, we discussed how the Geoverbund ABC/J can further strengthen its role as a strong networking and collaboration platform for Earth system science research in the Aachen–Bonn–Cologne–Jülich research region. Existing research-strategic priorities were deepened, new impulses were set, and further important steps in the ongoing strategy process were jointly initiated.

In the subsequent general assembly, we reflected on the past financial year and looked ahead to upcoming activities. The pre-Christmas reception with finger food and drinks then provided ample opportunity for personal exchange and cross-location networking.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to the Geographical Institute of the University of Cologne and, in particular, to Custodian Dr. Janotta for providing the premises of the Geography South Building.

We are delighted by the strong commitment of all participants and look forward to continued successful collaboration within the Geoverbund ABC/J.
